David Koresh, inspiration for the movie

Matthew McConaughey is David Koresh, the hunky cult leader that can get any girl he wants (within his compound), but can’t have the woman he loves.

“David & Patsy, Love in Waco” is the working title. Zooey Deschanel plays the hard-to-get, eclectic, cafe barista, Patsy, who has always been weary of Branch Davidians. David finds a way to spark romance with Patsy, but when she invites her father over for dinner at David’s compound, hijinx ensue! Robert DeNiro (or Pacino, doesn’t matter) plays the father, a tough veteran of the ATF who doesn’t approve of his daughter’s wacky new boyfriend.

Hilarious! This is my third time re-reading. May this be optioned for film, and go on to become the feel-good romcom of the year!

I wish this was real life. Finally, a romcom I’d willingly take a date to.
